Tickets for this approximately 90-minute activity cost around $140 per person ages 8 and older. Tours are generally available up to three times daily, but exact times and days vary by the month. Skyline Hawaii offers a sunrise and zip line combo tour of Haleakala.

This zip line adventure is ideal if you’re traveling with young children – kids as young as 5 years old are permitted to ride. What’s more, all of the zip lines are positioned side by side, allowing kids and adults to ride in tandem. Each of the five zip lines range from 300 to 900 feet long. The family-oriented outing begins with a scenic walk before reaching an observation deck that provides views of mountains, Haleakala and the island’s coast. Along the way, guides provide commentary about the region and its culture, which participants tend to find both amusing and informative.

Tours, which last approximately 90 minutes, are available Monday to Saturday at 10 a.m. and 12:30 and 3 p.m. Tickets cost approximately $150 per person, but if a member of a group wishes to wander the grounds of the plantation without using the zip lines, they are welcome to do so for free.

The zip lines, towers, platforms and suspension bridges on this North Shore tour boast ocean views. Speeds on the lines, including one that extends 900 feet, can reach 40 mph. Tour-takers routinely describe the guides as patient, reassuring and entertaining. An added bonus for veterans and history buffs: The course is located on land that was once part of Camp Maui, the former headquarters for the U.S. 4th Marine Division during World War II. Related memorabilia and vehicles can be viewed on-site.

Tours have several morning and afternoon start times every day except Sunday. Tickets for the approximately two-hour tours start at $139 for adults and $109 for kids 5 to 12. (There’s a “Scaredy-Cat” refund offered to anyone who does not want to continue after the first two lines.)

Calling all adrenaline junkies! This eight-line zip line course features a tree-to-tree suspension bridge and two swinging bridges, as well as an optional free-fall ride. Tours occur every 30 minutes from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily. Tour-takers enjoy both the valley views and the friendly, knowledgeable and safety-committed staff.
